This qualification is for people who are currently employed in a composite work place or those who wish to enter the composite industry. Graduates of this qualification will be able to work in a range of unsupervised trade level roles. Education pathway This qualification may build on from the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 1, 2 or 3 or: - New Zealand Certificate in Composites (Level 3) [Ref: 3055] - New Zealand Certificate in and Fill and Fair Surfaces (Level 3) [Ref: 3056] Graduates of this qualification may progress to: Employment pathway - New Zealand Certificate in Boat Building (Level 4) with strands in Alloy, Composite, Steel and Wood [Ref: 3057] - New Zealand Diploma in Composites (Level 6) [Ref: 3059] - Other diplomas in design and engineering. Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to work in a range of unsupervised roles in the marine or composites industry. - These may include Composite Technician Qualification specifications Qualification award This qualification may be awarded by any organisation with an approved programme of study or industry training programme. Evidence requirements for assuring consistency Evidence may include: - assessment information leading to the achievement of the graduate outcomes - a portfolio of learner work relating to the qualification and the annual review focus requirements - graduate and/or stakeholder/end-user feedback on outcome achievement - relevant excerpts from External Evaluation and Review reports - any other relevant evidence. People currently working towards the expiring national qualification may choose to complete that qualification or transfer their results to the replacement New Zealand qualification. The last date for entry into programmes leading to this qualification is 31 December 2016. The last date for assessment against the replaced qualification is 31 December 2018. It is not intended that any existing candidates are disadvantaged by this review.
