This is an entry level qualification for people intending to enter or who are already working in the marine or composite sector, filling and fairing substrates for refits or new builds. Graduates of this qualification will be able to work in a range of supervised roles. This qualification may build on from the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 1, 2 or 3. Graduates of this qualification may progress to: - New Zealand Certificate in Boat Building (Level 4) with Page 1 of 4 strands in Alloy, Composites, Steel and Wood [Ref: 3057] Employment pathway New Zealand Certificate in Composites (Level 4) [Ref: 3058] Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to work in a range of supervised roles in the marine or composite industry. Evidence requirements for assuring consistency Evidence may include: - assessment information leading to the achievement of the graduate outcomes - a portfolio of learner work relating to the qualification and the annual review focus requirements - graduate and/or stakeholder/end-user feedback on outcome achievement - relevant excerpts from External Evaluation and Review reports. People currently working towards the expiring national qualification may choose to complete that qualification or transfer their results to the replacement New Zealand qualification. The last date for entry into programmes leading to this qualification is 31 December 2016. The last date for assessment against the replaced qualification is 31 December 2018.
