Graduates will benefit by gaining a credential that may provide further employment opportunities. This qualification is part of a suite providing a pathway through to being qualified as a professional stylist and on to advanced specialisations in the hair industry. This qualification is for qualified hairdressers working within the hairdressing industry who wish to gain skills and knowledge in presenting advanced hair colouring techniques. Outcome Statement Graduate profile Graduates of this qualification will be able to: Apply advanced knowledge to complete a wide range of advanced hair colouring work, reflecting current and emerging trends, within a commercial hairdressing salon. Education pathway This certificate builds on level 4 qualifications for professional hairstylists. Employment pathway Graduates of this certificate are able to work as advanced stylists within a commercial hairdressing salon, or as a self-employed stylist in a variety of settings. Page 1 of 3 Evidence requirements for assuring consistency All Tertiary Education Organisations (TEOs) either arranging training or delivering programmes that lead to the award of the qualification are required to participate in a consistency process scheduled by NZQA. To demonstrate how graduates are achieving the qualification graduate profile outcomes, TEOs are required to produce evidence, this may include the following: Employer surveys to determine if graduates of the qualification are achieving graduate profile outcomes. Minimum standard of achievement and standards for grade endorsements The minimum standard of achievement required for the award of the qualification will be the achievement of all the graduate outcomes in the graduate profile. The last date of entry in to programmes leading to the replaced qualification is 31 December 2016 when the replaced qualification will be designated expiring. The last date to meet the requirements of the replaced qualification will be 31 December 2017 when the qualification will be discontinued. From that date no results can be reported against the replaced qualification. People currently working towards the replaced National qualification may either complete the requirements by 31 December 2017, or transfer their results to the replacement New Zealand qualification.
