Evidence requirements 1.1 Light microscopes are described in terms of their limitations and applications. Range 1.2 compound, stereoscopic. Microscope components are described in terms of their function. Range stage, light, eye piece, objective, diaphragm, condenser, coarse adjustment, fine adjustment. Outcome 2 Select, operate, and maintain a microscope. Range stereoscopic including zoom, compound. Evidence requirements 2.1 Selected microscope allows required specimen magnification to be met. Evidence requirements 3.1 Specimen is orientated using stage controls to allow measurements to be taken. 3.2 Record of measurements is consistent with the specimen’s dimensions.
