Classification Science > Microbiology Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes None. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Describe beneficial interactions between microorganisms and plants. Evidence requirements 1.1 The infection process is described in terms of the physical change to the microorganism and/or plant from the interaction. Range 1.2 may include but is not limited to – nodule formation, mycorrhizal, epiphytic, rhizosphere associations. The beneficial effects are described for the microorganism and/or plant in terms of the interaction. Outcome 2 Describe pathogenic interactions between microorganisms and plants. Range pathogenic interactions include – bacterial-plant, fungal-plant, viral-plant. Evidence requirements 2.1 Infectious plant diseases are described in terms of their pathogenesis. 2.2 The manner in which the pathogen in each interaction gains entry is described in terms of damage to plants.
