People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics of international wine producing regions; and identify and interpret information stated on imported wine labels. Range Outcome 2 Identify and interpret information stated on imported wine labels. Range information may include but is not limited to – volume, appellation, minimum alcohol, level of sweetness/ripeness, grape variety, vintage, country of origin, estate bottle (producer), négociant, region. Evidence requirements 2.1 Information stated on the wine label is identified and interpreted in accordance with the country of origin’s labelling system and the standard industry text. 2.2 Pronunciation of terminology on labels is in accordance with the standard industry text and establishment requirements.
