Specifications refers to documented instructions (oral, written, graphic) and may include any of the following: manufacturer’s specifications, recommendations or technical data sheets; material specifications; specifications from a specialist source such as an architect, designer, engineer or a supervisor; site or work specific requirements. Work site practice refers to the documented procedures specific to a work site which set out the standard and required practices of that work site. 2 For all on-site unit standards the practical assessment evidence must be provided in the context of commercial business construction operations, in the workplace, under normal workplace conditions. 3 Credit for this unit standard indicates compliance with industry practice. Range water-based, solvent-based. Evidence requirements 1.1 Sealers used for floor and wall tiling are identified by types and their uses. 1.2 Procedures for applying sealers are explained in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and work site practice. 1.3 Sealers are described in terms of their maintenance requirements once applied. Outcome 2 Select and apply sealers for floor and wall tiles on site. Evidence requirements 2.1 Sealers are selected in accordance with job specifications, tile type, and manufacturer’s specifications. 2.2 Sealers are applied in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. 2.3 Safety procedures specified for type of sealer are observed in accordance with work site practice. Outcome 3 Complete work operations. Evidence requirements 3.1 All operations are safely completed; workplace, tools, plant and equipment are cleaned; and tools, plant and equipment are stored in accordance with work site practice.
