Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Remove honey supers from beehives. Performance criteria 1.1 Beehives are labelled and removed in accordance with in-house procedures. 1.2 Bees are removed from honey supers in accordance with in-house procedures. Range 1.3 two of – shake and brush, escape board, bee blower with a hive stand. Honey supers are stacked for transport and covered to minimise robbing in accordance with in-house procedures. Range drip trays, cover boards, tarpaulin, load straps. 1.4 Beehives are checked for disease and re-assembled in accordance with inhouse procedures. 1.5 Procedures are carried out in accordance with in-house apiary hygiene procedures, safe manual handling, and Health and Safety legislation. 1.6 Honey supers are removed from the transport vehicle and stored in accordance with in-house procedures. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
