Classification Aviation > Airport Operations Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Definitions Escort refers to both the person who escorts, and the process by which the escort is carried out; The term airport refers to aerodrome as per Civil Aviation Rules. 2 Escort of people may include – people carrying cash, prisoners, VIPs, high-value freight escorter, contractors, cash handlers, medical and emergency services. 3 Reference to enterprise procedures means that all activities must comply with the requirements contained in the current airport exposition, current airport company manuals and procedures, and any relevant legislative and/or regulatory requirements, which may include but are not limited to: Civil Aviation Act 1990, relevant Civil Aviation Rules, New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) Policy. 4 Evidence must be provided for at least one person. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Coordinate and facilitate the escort of people at an airport. Evidence requirements 1.1 Facilitation and coordination of escort ensures passage of the person/people through the airport in accordance with enterprise procedures. Range 1.2 may include but is not limited to – crowd control, security clearances, route planning, provision for equipment, provision for contingencies, protocols. The escort is conducted via a pre-arranged route in accordance with enterprise procedures.
