NZQA registered unit standard 15886 version 3 Page 1 of 3 Title Dispatch aviation parts and/or materials Level 3 Credits Purpose 6 This unit standard is intended for people who dispatch aviation parts and/or materials to external agencies and customers as part of their aviation storekeeping duties. People credited with this unit standard are able to: check dispatch documentation; package aviation parts and/or materials for dispatch; complete dispatch documentation; and carry out dispatch of aviation parts and/or materials. Classification Aeronautical Engineering > Aeronautical Storekeeping Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 All tasks are to be carried out in accordance with enterprise procedures, the enterprise being the organisation carrying out the work. Enterprise procedures referred to in this unit standard are the applicable procedures found in the following: enterprise exposition; manufacturer publications; Government and local body legislation; airworthiness authority requirements. 2 Aviation parts and/or materials referred to in this unit standard are those that require evidence of authenticity and traceability to the manufacturer prior to their release for use on aircraft. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Check dispatch documentation. Evidence requirements 1.1 Aviation parts and/or materials received for dispatch are checked to ensure they match dispatch instructions. Range 1.2 instructions – part number, serial number, quantity. Aircraft release documentation provided is complete and matches items in accordance with enterprise procedures. Evidence requirements 2.1 Aviation parts and/or materials are packed for dispatch in accordance with enterprise procedures. Range 2.2 packing – bagging, wrapping, transit-case packing, crating, weighing, measuring dimensions. Packages are identified and meet transit documentation requirements. Range identification – address labels, fragile labels, special handling labels, dangerous goods markings. Outcome 3 Complete dispatch documentation. Evidence requirements 3.1 Dispatch documentation is completed in accordance with destination and enterprise procedures. Range 3.2 documentation – customs documents, waybills, consignment notes, dispatch advice notes. Dispatch records are updated in accordance with enterprise procedures. Outcome 4 Carry out dispatch of aviation parts and/or materials. Evidence requirements 4.1 Transportation method is selected in accordance with enterprise procedures and meets consignment requirements. Range 4.2 consignment requirements may include but are not limited to – urgency, weight, cost, customer specifications, fragility, dangerous goods requirements, hazard restrictions. Consignment is dispatched in accordance with enterprise procedures.
