Re: Position of Deputy Chancellor
At the November 22, 2013 Planning and Budgeting Council meeting, the Vice Chancellor of Human
Resources and Equal Employment Opportunity, Trudy Largent, presented the job description for Deputy
Chancellor.
In reviewing the job description, Vice Chancellor Largent reported that this position initially would be
filled on an interim basis at the December 10, 2013 Board meeting; the funding will come from the
former Special Assistant to the Chancellor position; this position will allow you more opportunity for
community outreach; this person would serve as acting chancellor when you are away; and among other
things, this position will make recommendations regarding policy development.
There were various questions and concerns raised regarding this position.
The Planning and Budgeting Council endorsed this position by a vote of 3 “yes” votes and 2”no” votes,
with the remaining members of the PBC not voting.
