Peralta Scholars Program
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The Peralta Scholars Program (PSP) at the Peralta Community College District
(PCCD) is seeking a faculty lead at each PCCD campus to facilitate, coordinate, and
direct the PSP on their respective campus. The PSP is a district-wide initiative
grounded in the promising practices of working with at-risk populations and
national, statewide, and district data. The goal is to boost the persistent, transfer,
and graduation rates of at-risk students at PCCD. The faculty lead at each PCCD
campus will be responsible for the following:















Collaborate with District Office of Student Success and Equity in the
development and evaluation of the Peralta Scholars Program. All faculty and
counseling leads will participate in the PSP Work Group. The work group
develops, evaluates, and reconfigures the program based on feedback and data.
Coordinate the application and selection process of students to PSP. This process
includes developing screening criteria, information verification, and notifying
successful applicants of acceptance into the program.
Facilitate the Bridge component of the program. These duties include but are
not limited to recruiting students to the Bridge program, working cooperatively
to establish the agenda, and co-facilitating the program with support staff.
Monitor the achievement of hallmarks as the student completes assigned
mandates, the faculty lead will keep track of the students and the achievements.
Direct student staff in their task in support of PSP.
Work collaboratively with lead counselor to be responsive to issues that arise
from early alert and other concerns related to persistence and retention.
Report to college Vice President of Student Services (VPSS) and Vice President of
Instruction (VPI) on the status of the program and developments as they occur.
Serve on campus SSSP and Equity Committees to ensure that program is in
alignment with campus goals and other student success initiatives.
Provide Monthly, Semester, and Annual reports on the PSP.
Participate in mandatory professional development trainings designed for the
PSP Working Group to be aware of the most current Promising Practices and
trends in student success initiatives.
Respond to calls and inquires from students, faculty, staff and community
members about PSP at the campus level.
Represent and serve as the primary contact the PSP program on campus.
Work collaboratively with Counseling, Admissions and Records, and the
Learning Center to ensure the success of students.
Serve as the Lead and complete others tasks related to the success of students in
the PSP
