DEC Review of PASS Presentations
At its October 16, 2015 meeting, the District Education Committee (DEC) reviewed and discussed
the PASS presentations from the colleges. This occurred because Deputy Chancellor Gravenberg
requested that the DEC be provided an overview of the PASS programs at each of the respective
colleges at the October meeting of the DEC. Specifically, in an e-mail was sent to the college
presidents on September 23, 2015 by Dr. Gravenberg. He requested that the following information
be included in the presentations to the DEC.




Amount of funds awarded to each College.
How the funds were allocated by the Colleges – process and methodology.
Assessment of the programs that were funded.
Future plans for the programs awarded and how these efforts are aligned with existing
efforts
Three of the colleges responded (College of Alameda, Berkeley City College, Merritt College) and
their presentations are attached to this memo.
