Classification Reo Māori Media > Te Reo Māori Pāpāho Available grade Achieved Entry information National Certificate in Reo Māori (Level 4) [Ref: 0426], or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills. Recommended skills and knowledge Explanatory notes 1 Reo Māori media refers to the use of te reo Māori incorporating tikanga, and kaupapa Māori in the media. 2 Evidence of the creative application of te reo Māori is a key focus of this unit standard. The candidate’s written piece must utilise reo Māori elements of figures of speech (iti te kupu, nui te korero). 3 Māori elements of figures of speech refer to kīwaha, whakataukī, pepeha, te reo ōkawa, te reo o te kāuta. 4 Approval should be obtained from the supervisor or tutor of the course or the workplace manager.
