NZQA registered unit standard 18356 version 3 Page 1 of 3 Title Develop a substance abuse cessation programme in the context of oranga Māori Level 3 Credits 3 Purpose People credited with this unit standard are able to develop a Māori cessation programme to address one form of substance abuse that is harmful to oranga Māori, and develop methodology for evaluating the success of the cessation programme. Classification Hauora > Tikanga Hauora Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 The context of inquiries is limited to local rohe and takiwā. Where local rohe are also occupied by Māori with other iwi or hapū affiliations, the tangata whenua or mana whenua view takes precedence. However, these alternative perspectives should be encouraged in order to enrich and enhance understanding of key oranga concepts. 2 Descriptions, explanations, and observable actions can be presented in a number of ways that may include but are not limited to – kōrero, titiro, whakarongo, tuhituhi, whakaari, waiata, and haka presentations. 3 The programme should be suitable for a class, school or small community. 4 Resources Biggs, B. Outcome 2 Develop methodology for evaluating the success of the cessation programme. Evidence requirements 2.1 Methodology includes process for participant self-appraisal. 2.2 Methodology includes evaluation of programme against objectives. 2.3 Methodology meets the approval of participant.
