People credited with this unit standard are able to: design office
procedures for a Māori organisation, and identify and evaluate
opportunities to apply these procedures; and implement office
procedures in a Māori organisation in accordance with tikanga.

Explanatory notes
Māori organisation is an organisation whose kaupapa is whānau, hapū, iwi, and/or hapori
Māori-based. Modern-day examples include: Ahu Whenua Trusts, Crown Forest Rental
Trust, Iwi Asset Holding Company, Iwi Authorities, Māori Council, Māori Wardens, Māori
Women’s Welfare League, Marae Trusts, NZ Māori Council, Rūnanga, Tribal Committees,
Trust Boards, Urban Māori Authorities, and Whānau Trusts.
Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1
Design office procedures for a Māori organisation, and identify and evaluate opportunities
to apply these procedures.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Office procedures which incorporate tikanga Māori are designed to meet the
expectations of the organisation and their customers.
1.2
Relevant and sufficient research and information is organised into a format that
meets organisation requirements.
1.3
Opportunities to apply skills, knowledge, attitudes, and values to programme
content and delivery that reflect tikanga Māori are identified and evaluated in
terms of their potential contribution to the organisation.
