Definitions
Organisational procedures refer to formally documented
instructions in the workplace which are available to
candidates, providers, and assessors.
A distribution centre is a facility where customer orders
are processed and normally includes the facility to
store, although product does not necessarily go into
storage.

activities or it may constitute a complete organisation.

Information to monitor distribution centre operations is identified in terms of
distribution centre operational requirements.
1.3
Information systems for managing distribution centre operations are evaluated
against identified information needs and current system capabilities, and any
modifications to systems are identified.
1.4
Systems implemented to control distribution centre operations are cost-effective
in terms of labour, equipment, and effectiveness of operation.
1.5
Incidents which are symptomatic of problems with information flow and
distribution centre operational systems are identified, the causes explained, and
remedial action recommended.

2.1
Condition of products is maintained in accordance with product, legal, and
organisational requirements.
Range:
may include but is not limited to - dangerous goods, edible and/or
refrigerated product, products requiring special security, shelf-life
limitations.

Work output is evaluated for compliance with organisational standards, and any
remedial action implemented includes staff training.
2.3
Processing and checking of orders meets legal, organisational, and product
requirements.
2.4
Daily operations schedules are analysed to determine inefficiencies and
pressure points in operations and remedial action is implemented as required.
2.5
Documentation is maintained in accordance with legal and organisational
requirements.

Maintenance schedules for distribution centre equipment comply with
manufacturers’ instructions and/or organisational requirements for general

3.2
Resources are allocated to maintain services required during the planned
maintenance of equipment.
3.3
Contingency plans are developed for situations which are abnormal for the
organisation.
3.4
Equipment and parts replacements are monitored and remedial action identified
for any misuse or abuse of equipment.
