This unit standard does not apply to the transportation and delivery of base-course materials for roading (See Unit 1760, Deliver base-course aggregates by truck). These must be available to candidates, providers, and assessors. Elements and Performance Criteria element 1 Prepare for a trip. performance criteria 1.1 Vehicle selected is suitable for the intended load in terms of the axle and gross loading, cubic capacity, and body condition. 1.2 Preparation of the vehicle takes into consideration special characteristics of the load in terms of moisture content and the likelihood of the load to shift in transit. 1.3 Preparations are consistent with the delivery instructions and organisational requirements. Range: 2.6 without injury to people; without damage to vehicle, equipment, and property. Range: stable, flat, clear of obstacles, sufficient area to contain load. 4.3 Delivery is consistent with the delivery instructions and organisational requirements. 4.4 Driving procedures meet with legal and organisational requirements for safety.
