Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used throughout operations in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer’s instructions 2 Definition Company procedures refer to all documented policies and procedures of the candidate’s employer at the time of training, including but not limited to those relating to health, safety, environment, quality, and operations. ITP means Inspection and Test Plan Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Identify and select spray equipment Evidence requirements 1.1 Spray equipment requirements are determined in accordance with ITP and company procedures. Range 1.2 spray equipment type, application rate, compressor. Spray application logistics are determined in accordance with job requirements. Range plan of application, site and job restrictions, hose lengths, handling requirements, job timing, order of application, liaison with other affected people, liaison with applicator. NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (Incorporated) (MITO) SSB Code 101542 New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2016 NZQA registered unit standard 28773 version 1 Page 2 of 3 Outcome 2 Set up spray equipment Evidence requirements 2.1 Hoses are laid out in accordance with site and job logistic requirements. 2.2 Compressor or paint feed system is set up in accordance with application requirements. 2.3 Spray gun is set up in accordance with application requirements. 2.4 Mixed paint is introduced to feed system in accordance with application requirements. 2.5 Spray is tested to confirm application set-up in accordance with ITP and application requirements. 2.6 Set-up is confirmed with applicator in terms of settings and conformance with job requirements. Outcome 3 Clean up spray equipment Evidence requirements 3.1 Excess paint is removed from hose lines and system. 3.2 System is cleaned using cleaners and/or thinners in accordance with spray product requirements. 3.3 System is stored in accordance with company procedures.
