Assessment parameters will be dependent on company and site specific equipment, procedures, and practices. Practices must reflect industry best practice and comply with legislative requirements. Assessment against evidence requirement 3.1 may be carried out in a simulated situation. 2 Range engine-generator of the type and size used on infrastructure works sites. 3 Definitions Fault situation means malfunctions in equipment such as overheating, low oil pressure and residual current device tripping. Manufacturer’s instructions may include specifications, safety data sheets, and instructions for installation, handling, use, and maintenance. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Carry out pre-start procedures on a generator on an infrastructure works site. Outcome 2 Operate a generator on an infrastructure works site. Evidence requirements 2.1 Generator is started up and operated in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and infrastructure works site requirements. 2.2 Generator use is assessed in terms of environmental impact. Range noise, fumes, spills. Outcome 3 Follow shutdown procedures for a generator on an infrastructure works site. Evidence requirements 3.1 Generator is shut down in a fault situation in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Range 3.2 stop button, circuit breaker.
