This qualification is intended for learners who are planning to embark on a career in the aviation industry as an aeronautical engineer servicing aircraft. The aeronautical engineering sector of the aviation industry will benefit through recruitment of staff capable of completing servicing of aircraft on a flight line or ramp Graduates will be equipped with a comprehensive base of skills and experience that will prepare them for further employment in Aeronautical Engineering. Building on the skills acquired in this qualification, holders may progress to become a licenced aircraft maintenance engineer. Qualification specifications Qualification award This qualification can be awarded by any education organisation which has an approved programme of study or industry training leading to the qualification. Evidence requirements for assuring consistency Evidence associated with the achievement of qualification outcomes will include the following: - Employer surveys to determine if graduates of the qualification meet the graduate outcomes. - A range of workplace evidence demonstrating that graduates meet the graduate profile outcomes. May include other evidence as appropriate. The last date for entry into programmes leading to the replaced qualification is 31 December 2018. The last date for assessment of the replaced qualification is 31 December 2020, at which time it will be designated as discontinued.
