The aviation industry will benefit by having Aircraft Cleaners who are capable of working within a team with general supervision. Outcome Statement Graduate profile Graduates of this qualification will be able to: - apply appropriate literacy within a work-related context - use effective verbal communications to contribute to group performance - complete aircraft cleaning tasks using correct equipment and supplies as required by international aviation regulations - comply with security rules applicable to airports when performing aircraft cleaning tasks. Education pathway This qualification can provide a pathway to other training opportunities with a ground handling service provider. Holders of this qualification may progress into a supervisory role within Aircraft Cleaning for which a range of management qualifications and/or training opportunities are available, depending on the needs and aspirations of the organisation and the individual. These could include National and/or New Zealand qualifications on the NZQF and/or in-house training for Aircraft Cleaning leadership roles. Employment pathway Holders of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to work as aircraft cleaners. They may be involved in cleaning multiple aircraft types of varying sizes. With the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience, holders may progress to become Aircraft Cleaning Supervisors, or Team Leaders. Qualification Developer ServiceIQ Qualification Specification Qualification award This qualification is awarded by the accredited provider. The formal certification document will include the NZQF logo, ServiceIQ, and the logo of any tertiary education organisation offering a programme of training leading to the award of this qualification. Review period 60 months – To be reviewed in 2018 Evidence requirements for assuring consistency All TEOs either arranging training or delivering programmes that lead to the award of the qualification are required to participate in a consistency process scheduled by NZQA. Credit transfer and recognition of prior learning arrangements ServiceIQ recognises prior learning achieved within both formal and informal settings. As this qualification is different in design and content to the expiring National qualification, it is the industry and SSB's preference and recommendation that trainees enter into programmes leading to the new qualification. Trainees currently enrolled in programmes leading to the replaced qualification may either complete the requirements by 31 December 2015 or transfer to the new qualification. The last date for entry into programmes leading to the replaced qualification is 31 December 2013. The last date for award of the replaced qualification is 31 December 2015 at which time it will be designated as discontinued.
