Campus Recreation Student Advisory Board (CRSAB)
The Campus Recreation Director gave a brief overview of the CRSAB:
Board Purpose – The Campus Recreation Student Advisory Board was created due to the $9/semester IRA fee.
The board serves to advise the Campus Recreation Department’s current and future programs and services, as
well as make recommendations to the Campus Recreation Department in general.
Membership – Board members will be officially appointed. Only board members may vote on CRSAB affairs;
Campus Recreation professional/student staff do not have voting privileges.
Expectations of Board Members – Board members are expected to attend the monthly meetings and be present
for roll call. Members are also expected to remain familiar with Campus Recreation. The three primary rules for
members are to “Ask Questions”, “Listen to Others”, and “Give Input and Opinions”. Similarly, it is heavily
encouraged that members perform research in-between meetings.
Campus Recreation Updates from 2012-2013
5k Walk Run – The Intramural and Sports Clubs Coordinator announced that 5k Walk Run, part of the
President’s Investiture Week, was very successful. This was the second year of Campus Recreation holding this
event.
Department Video – The Office Coordinator updated that the planned Campus Recreation Department video
has been completed this past spring semester and was on the Campus Recreation Department website.

West Campus Green – The Intramural and Sport Club Coordinator announced that a new on-campus
recreational field has been opened. Named “West Campus Green,” the field is available for informal recreation
use in addition to intramural and sport club use. The location is open to all students, but reservations may only
be made by on-campus organizations at this time. In addition, metal cleats, animals, and food have all been
banned from being brought onto the field in the interest of maintenance.
Summer Swim – The Fitness, Wellness, and Aquatics Coordinator informed us that the third year of Summer
Swim Lessons went off without a hitch. We were also informed that a new fall program of swim lessons will be
made available starting this coming semester.
Summer 2013 Updates - The Facilities and Informal Recreation Coordinator reported that two of our facilities,
the Tennis Courts and Gyms 100 and 147 have had improvements made. Gyms 100 and 147 had their floors
recoated. Several of the tennis courts were resurfaced.
The department would also like to announce that Pam Su has been brought aboard as our new Campus
Recreation Department Director. Additionally, as part of our mission to create a stronger brand for the
department, a new logo for Campus Rec has been introduced.
Plans for Campus Rec in 2013-2014
Rec and Wellness Center – The RWC, begun in 2006-2007, is now projected to be completed in the 2016-2017
year. The Campus Recreation Director previewed the architectural drawings for the group and entertained
questions from attendees.
Our Department Director went over the projected and actual budget figures for the previous year’s budget.
Figures for the current year are being pulled into a new format and will be shared when ready.
Programs
Discussion was held regarding the possibility of having a table tennis program. The group decided that there
would need to be more than one table for table tennis and that a possible time will be 1-3pm. The location and
finalized times for programming of this activity still need to be decided.
Announcements
-Recreation, Parks, and Tourism (RPT) are looking for new members and are promoting Campus Rec to their
current members.
-The Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) has a schedule for their games listed on OrgSync.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 pm.
