Definitions
Union – an organisation registered under part 4 of the Employment Relations Act
2000, to promote its members’ collective employment interests.
Collective (as used in International Labour Organisation (ILO) Convention 98) –
as a noun – a group formed for the promotion and defence of occupational interests;
as an adjective – having the characteristics of a collective.
Ratification – the formal process of approval or rejection of the outcome of bargaining
by employees who would be covered by the agreement.
