Summary
Industry feedback on unit standard 26393 indicated that some evidence requirements
were unclear and range statements were too restrictive. This made it difficult to meet
moderation requirements and placed unnecessary requirements on learners.
Meetings with subject matter experts were conducted, identifying the required content and
compared this content against the existing unit standard. It was identified that the purpose
of the unit standard is correct but the range of evidence required to meet some of the
outcomes was beyond what is expected or possible of a person working at that level. All
outcomes have remained the same but some evidence requirements and range
statements have been re-worded to better reflect the need of industry and to clarify the
quantity and quality of evidence required. Drafts of the unit standard were circulated, and
industry and providers were invited to submit feedback. All changes have been endorsed
by industry.
