The Fire and Rescue Services Industry Training Organisation (EMQUAL) has completed
the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
The review was undertaken as part of the Industry Training Organisation’s (ITO’s) planned
review programme.
The review of these standards was based on comments received from industry as a result
of a consultation and feedback process. Review teams, comprising industry
representatives and the ITO’s Industry Technical Advisory Group, considered the
comments and endorsed the changes that were made.
Main changes
 Titles, outcomes, evidence requirements, range statements, and explanatory notes
were updated to reflect the present needs of the fire and rescue services industry.
 Standards 14559, 16939, 16940, 16941, and 16942 were identified as no longer
required by industry, and have been designated expiring and will not be replaced.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2013
