People credited with this unit standard are able to perform calculations for the workplace. Classification Core Generic > Work and Study Skills Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Assessment can occur in a workplace or in a training or educational establishment, provided that calculations are realistic for a given scenario, relevant to a specified workplace and meet workplace requirements for accuracy and timeliness. Calculators and/or any other resources may be used if their use is realistic for the given scenario and meets specified workplace requirements. 2 Definitions Workplace refers to a place of paid or voluntary employment. Evidence requirements 1.1 Money calculations are completed in accordance with workplace requirements. requirements include but are not limited to – accuracy, timeliness; money calculations may include but are not limited to – mark-ups, mark-downs, discounts, Goods and Services Tax, currency conversion; Evidence is required of five different types of money calculations. Range 1.2 Non-money calculations are completed in accordance with workplace requirements. requirements include but are not limited to – accuracy, timeliness; non-money calculations may include but are not limited to – metric to imperial conversion, measurements, ratios, proportions, weights, 24-hour clock; Evidence is required of five different types of non-money calculations. Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Requirements for consent to assess and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR).
