You will be assessed on your ability to perform ngā mihi (greetings and farewells) appropriately, and from memory, with correct pronunciation and correct use of grammar. During your welcome you must: Acknowledge te Atua, ngā mate, mana whenua, ngā manuhiri. Use two formal types of greetings; one to two people and one to a group. Use two informal types of greetings; one to a single person and one to two people. However, before they do you are required to give them a poroporoaki (farewell). You must perform from memory and use the correct pronunciation and grammar to farewell them in an appropriate manner.
