Brief report

Place: Hotel “Dukagjini” Pejë
On Tuesday, September 14th, TACSO in cooperation with NGO “Syri i Vizionit”
organized a public consultation with civil society organizations in Pejë region. Aim of
this consultation was to identify needs and supporting modalities for these civil society
organizations.
Nonetheless, the overall objective of this meeting was Technical Assistance for Civil
Society Organizations and civil society empowerment with a participatory democracy,
to stimulate a suitable environment of civil society and culture, as well as to
strengthen overall Civil Society Organizations (CSO) capacities within IPA (Western and
Turkey) beneficiaries, to guarantee quality services of CSO’s and a sustainable role of
CSO’s in democratic process.
In this meeting took part various nongovernmental organizations, including the ones
that deal with issues of women, youth, communities, people with special needs, youth
centers and agriculture organization of Pejë region.
Meeting was held in three sessions with three different topics. It was moderated by

After the presentation participants debated and asked additional explanations about
TASCO’s role and what they can request from it while preparing project proposals for
applying in EU and other donors’ funds.
Meanwhile, on the second session: Needs and challenges of Community Based
Organizations (CBOs) – moderated by Shqipe Svecla, TACSO PO and contributions from
Veton Mujaj, Syri i Vizionit as well as Ardita Metaj –Dika of TACSO, organizations were
familiarized with the challenges that they faced during this period that TASCO managed
to identify, and their needs for empowerment. At the same time, these CBOs were
informed with NGO “Syri i Vizionit” work.

At the open debate that followed the session, participants expressed many concerns
and difficulties they face during their daily work, while they asked for more frequent
conferences or consultative meetings of this kind.
Organization called on TACSO and SiV to offer them trainings on a number of topics,
such as on:
- Trainings on drafting project proposals
- Trainings on budget management (Finance)
- Trainings on NGO Management
In the meantime, on the third session – Modalities and priorities of Community Based
Organizations (CBOs) – moderated by Shqipe Svecla, TACSO PO and contributions of
Veton Mujaj, Syri i Vizionit and Ardita Metaj- Dika of TACSO, organizations exchanged
their experiences and how they function/operate and how they manage to get
donations from abroad to ensure their existence and further expansion of their
activities.
At the same time, organizations demonstrated their experience they had while working
with NGO “Syri i Vizionit”, under the “BRIDGE” project funded by EIDHR program of the
European Commission, which aimed empowerment of NGO’s or councils working on
human rights with small grants.
Participating organizations also asked explanations on how to create a partnership
between NGO’s in order to apply with project proposals to donors.
