The instructor my initiate an “Excessive Absences Drop Form” but if the instructor doesn’t, it’s the students choice and responsibility whether to drop or receive an F. In particular, financial aid and grade point averages may depend on this decision. Friday, November 18, 2005 is the last day to drop in order to receive a “W” grade. Disciplinary Action Guidelines: The college may impose two kinds of disciplinary action on students: academic and nonacademic. Five regulations pertaining to student discipline and the right of students to appeal decisions or file complaints were promulgated on April 19, 1995. Four regulations pertain to nonacademic actions and one pertains to academic actions. Ringing cell phones will be met with laughter and derisive stares. Biography: Mr. Neaderhouser has two Masters Degrees, one in math and one in statistics. He has taught at University of Illinois, Texas A&M, University of Houston, University of Phoenix, and Cy-Fair College. Also Mr. Neaderhouser was a programmer/developer in the oil industry for twenty-five years. He was born in Indiana and has lived in Texas since 1975. He served in Korea for the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. During his career he raised three daughters all born in the 1970s. Recommended Organization for this class: 1) Notebook for chronological notes – spiral bound or loose-leaf – 2 to 5 pages per classroom hour times roughly 40 classroom hours or from 80 to 200 pages. Recommended assignments can be included between lectures or in a separate notebook. Assignments add another 100 pages. 2) Pocket in notebook for this syllabus and other handouts – five to ten pages. 3) Large pockets in notebook or file folder for testing material: review sheets, tests and answer sheets – 15 to 25 pages. These are important as your grade record and for final review.
