Document review and interviews indicate that there is no district code of conduct for
teachers. The student handbook does not contain procedures for the discipline of
students with Section 504 Accommodation Plans, and the nondiscrimination policy is
missing the required protected category of gender identity. Furthermore, the student
handbook does contain a procedure for accepting, investigating, and resolving complaints
alleging sexual harassment but this procedure does not address the discrimination and
harassment of students based on race, color, national origin, sex, gender identity,
religion, or sexual orientation.
Description of Corrective Action:
Administrative Team will develop code of conduct for teachers.
Principal and Handbook Committee will amend student handbook to include procedures
for discipline for students with 504 plans, to also include the protected category of gender
identity.
The Administrative Team will develop a step-by-step procedure to address the
