Building a better world
The faculty of engineering at the University of New Brunswick has been preparing graduates
for success in their engineering careers since 1854, when UNB was the first university in
Canada to introduce an engineering program.
Our graduates have gone on to help design and build bridges, make cleaner fuels and nextgeneration wireless communications tools. Researchers at the faculty are developing
technologies to help improve satellite imagery used by Google Earth and the Canadian
Department of National Defence. Others are in helping develop biofuels and renewable
energy.
Our tradition of excellence adds up to a solid reputation that you can use to start your
career after graduation.
Choose the program that fits your needs
UNB’s Faculty of Engineering offers seven different undergraduate programs:




Chemical
Civil
Electrical
Geological



Geomatics
Mechanical
Software
We also offer graduate programs for those who wish to pursue a master’s degree or PhD.
We continue to build on our proud history by offering leading-edge educational opportunities
such as our biomedical option, which allows students in select programs to combine
preparation for entering medical school with an engineering degree.
Earn while you learn
Our co-op and work experience programs give our students the opportunity to gain
valuable, paid, on-the-job experience.
Co-op students have the option to begin a work term after their first year, which can help
them apply the skills and knowledge they've gained in the classroom to a real-world
environment.
Students participating in our Professional Experience Program spend up to 16-months
working before their final year, which helps provide not only invaluable job experience, but
also money to fund their education.
