Start with single subjects
My name is Ahmed Kelly, I’m enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts and this is my first
year of study. I chose the Bachelor of Arts because it was a pathway to get into sports
journalism and in the long term I would love to have a job in sports broadcasting.
Unfortunately I didn’t get an ATAR score due to my sporting commitment however I
was able to enter into a Bachelor of Arts through single subject pathway which
allowed me to choose two subjects and that way I could get into sports journalism.
When I found out I didn’t have an ATAR score I spoke to the national recruitment at
La Trobe to figure out what was the best option to get into a sports journalism degree.
The most thing I enjoy about my course is the challenge that presents itself and also
the wonderful experiences the lecturers and also other students have had in the media
industry And hopefully I can get there in the future.
When I finish my course I’d love to get into the sports broadcasting industry because I
have a great passion for sports, specifically AFL and swimming.
