AAC Communication 11/13/2013 Item Responsible & Contact Academic Calendar Begin Date End Date 15-15-12 In addition to the extra non-instructional week before the spring term that will go into effect in 2014-15, in 2015-16 faculty and students will also gain a noninstructional week between the summer and fall terms Since a non-instructional week would be added to the break between the fall and spring terms due to the elimination of spring break, the 2015 spring term will begin a week later. A 15-week term in the spring will allow CNM to align its schedule with the University of New Mexico’s spring term. The spring term would start the day after Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Although CNM would have a 12-week summer term, many classes will be offered in an 8-week format. The fall and spring terms would end on Saturdays instead of Thursdays to maximize the instructional days in a 15-week format. Beginning spring 2015, President’s Day, which occurs in mid-February, would become an instructional day to maximize the number of instructional days in a 15-week format. 201516 Master Plan Proposals Sydney Nov 21st LFC Visit LouAnne, Sydney, Juliane, Eugene Nov 22nd AACC Convention Notes Nov 20th The process begins with a request for a Master Plan item on the Master Plan Project Proposal Template – Part 1.
