CORE ASSESSMENT # 4 Clinical Experience 1 Assessment Tool/ Description of Assignment Working in a local school setting, candidates practice and develop skills in working with individuals experiencing underachievement in literacy. Candidates will use a variety of formal and informal measures to diagnose to determine the student’s strengths and needs. A case study will be written for each child that will show the process of linking instruction with contextual information, assessment information, identification of strengths and needs, instruction and intervention, and reflection. Literacy profiles will be used as a communication tool between the parent and candidate. Candidates are expected to have a parent-teacher conference at the end of the clinical experience to review the information contained in the literacy profile.
