MONTHLY ACTIVITIES
August 2000 – Held an advisory Committee meeting during the All Service Vocational Conference in Bismarck. The main
agenda items were alternative delivery methods for the six Vocational Technical Education required degree courses and the
“Professional Development Framework Modules” being prepared for www delivery. Continued to do research in preparation
of the next North Central Association (NCA) visit. Worked on scheduling for fall semester classes.
September 2000 – Worked on curriculum revisions for the three Vo-Tech Ed courses that I teach. Researched www sites to
share information with vocational students enrolled in Vocational Technical Education courses. Revised the course syllabi for
the 6 required courses for use on my home page.
October 2000 –Begin preliminary work for spring classes and summer workshops. Hosted the Marketing Education, DECA
Fall Leadership Conference. Begin work on revision of the degree plans for the degree program. Attended the American
Technical Education Association (ACTE) Regional Conference at NDSCS.
November 2000 – Completed schedules for the summer workshops. Met with Darren Bollinger, SBV-TE to begin preliminary
work to structure a marketing education concentration to compliment our business education degree. Appointed as one of the
seven North Dakota educators to serve on a national project to identify needs in Career and Technical Education (CTE).
There are five identified regions and this appointment is for the region that includes North Dakota.
December 2000 – Attended the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) National Convention and Trade
Show in San Diego, California. Planned the agenda for the next advisory committee meeting to be held in February 2001.
ON-GOING ACTIVITIES

Revising Marketing brochures to reflect catalogue changes and will mail to North Dakota secondary schools and
vocational centers.

Continue to maintain and add to a data file of Vocational and Technical Education Degree candidates.

Distributing the Summer School Vocational and Technical Education master workshop list. Trade, Industry, Technical,
and Health Education office will assist with the distribution.

Working continuously on Vocational and Technical Education curriculum development and management. Revising
Vocational and Technical Education required courses for future delivery.

Currently in the process of seeking extension/workshop credit opportunities for candidates who may enroll in the degree
program. Also maintaining contact with Dr. Sandy Braathen, UND, to continue to offer graduate credit.

Speak on nearly a daily basis with degree candidates about their personal degree plan.

Monte Johnson, VCSU Registrar, continues to prepare status sheets from individual transcripts to show candidates how
previous course work fits into the Vocational and Technical Education Degree. This step precedes formal application
procedures.
