Jamestown college invited a competition to raise money for Special Olympics iii. We are partnered with VCAB iv. Asking people to volunteer then asking them to name their price to plunge. 1. SLAC a. Looked over A LOT of bills b. Student fees can go up 1% each semester c. Open textbooks online d. Legislature wants to freeze tuition for NDUS i. Not supporting it through NDSA ii. Next Meeting is February 22 f. VCAB i. Come learn to crochet or knit ii. Wednesday – white out dance at the Eagles club g. IRHC i. Nothing h. Viking Ambassadors i. Nothing i. Athletics i. Wednesday – Jamestown game at home j. Fine Arts i. Wednesday – concerts in Fromeke ii. Next Wednesday people from Concordia coming to perform k. Communication and Social Sciences i. nothing VIII. IX. l. Business and Information Technologies i. BIT DAY on Wednesday – We have over 200 local high school students who will be on campus. This is a HUGE recruiting opportunity for the division. We need students to help that day – they should contact myself or Amber. ii. Next week we kick off our “Roadshows”. Roadshows will consist of a team of two faculty members who will travel to local/regional high schools to inform them on the CIS major opportunities. We are kicking off a recruiting campaign specifically focused on recruiting CIS majors. iii. Sue and Brenda met with Bobcat on Tuesday and solidified a seamless agreement with them for internship opportunities for students.
