Steps to Register in MathXL

MathXL is accessed via the web and works best with the Windows operating system
and Microsoft Internet Explorer, but is also accessible with a MAC and IE.
1. Open Internet Explorer (IE) and go to www.mathxl.com. (Save in Favorites if
possible.) Click on Register.
2. This will take you to the next page. You will need three things to proceed.
a) a valid email address
b) the course access code given to you by your instructor in class (see below).
c) a student access code from your MathXL Student Access Kit. This is often
packaged with the textbook but can be purchased individually or online through
www.mathxl.com (however you must have a credit card to purchase it online).
Go to bottom of the page where it says “Ready To Register” and click Next.
3. You will now enter your Access Information.
a) Choose “No, I am a New User”.
b) Access Code: This is in your MathXL Student Access Kit.
Tear off the peel and enter this 31-letter code (not case specific).
c) Next you will enter your School Zip (68588) and School Country (choose
United States from the pop up menu). Click Next.
4. Enter your course access code (below) and click Next.
Course Access Code: XL0M-312L-901Y-66Z2
5. Enter Account Information.
a) Enter your name and a valid email address that you check often.
b) Select UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA LINCOLN from the pop up menu.
c) Choose a Login Name and Password. You must remember this
information since this is how you will login each time you use MathXL.
d) Select a Security Question from the drop down menu and type in your answer.
After this, click Next.
6. Confirmation and Summary: You now have access and may login. Click on Log
In Now. Enter login name and password. It will say “Welcome (your name)” and
list your course and the cover of your textbook.
7. Click on this course and explore the site. Make note of the calendar showing
opening and closing dates for HW and start practicing entering homework answers.
