TOPIC DISCUSSION ACTION STEPS PERSONS RESPONSIBLE TIME-LINE Course Syllabus Template Proposal The Committee discussed the template proposal and agreed on changes – to incorporate core outcomes as a simple checklist under “M.”. Kate End April Assessment Process For 5 Column and Core Outcomes (WAC, SpAC, CAAP) Assessment Reporting Process: The Committee agreed that the Department Chairs will work with the programs to facilitate assessment reporting; that reports will be forwarded to Kate; Kate will send to Tom Prendergast for generating summary reports and will keep the Student Success Plan web page updated. Window is 4/30 – 5/12 to be administered in capstone courses. Tom suggested distribution of tests. Make changes to template proposal, send to Committee, if approved send to Faculty Caucus none Select course, notify faculty DCs as indicated Next week Update assessment plans, notify core team leaders Contact IT about requirements, intro team members and show web site. none Kate End April Terry 4/20 Spring Quarter CAAP Critical Thinking Assessment Core Outcomes and CCSSE 4/20 Convocation The Committee decided to have Core Learning Outcomes Team members stand upon introduction and to do a brief demonstration of the Student Success Plan web site. Report on OBR Workshop Terry and Teri reported on the 3/20 Student Success OBR workshop. A database with core outcomes linked to courses (to keep updated ProActive Learning Outcomes Inventory/Report) would be good. Some colleges are doing that now. We’re in good shape compared to other colleges. About 5 out of 6 colleges are using or planning to use e- Core Outcomes Teams Project/Budget Proposals portfolios. Other colleges were impressed with our course syllabus template with linked outcomes and assessment methods. Paul Sukys (Culture and Community) Core Outcomes Team is the only team to submit a project proposal. As a result, consideration of team proposals was postponed until next meeting. Contact other Core Team leaders to request proposals. Kate This week Schedule/plan next meeting Kate This week Terry volunteered to complete the proposal for the Critical Thinking Team. Next Meetings PAC will probably need proposals by the end of the month. Meetings will be at 3:00 on Tuesdays, 4/17, 5/1, 5/15, and 5/29. Next meeting topic will be consideration of Core Team Project Proposals. Subsequent meetings will address planning for core outcomes assessment, to discuss assessment days, e-portfolios, a core outcomes transcript, embedded assessment in capstone courses, etc.
