Unit Name and #:
Unit 5:
Representing Patterns
as Equations and
Graphs
Course:
Algebra IB
Dates:
Feb 16 – Feb 20, 2015
What are we learning?
Daily Objective:
 Students will test values to determine the solution sets of linear inequalities in one
variable.
 Students will use algebra to solve linear inequalities in one variable
 Students will graph the solution sets of linear inequalities in one variable on a number
line.
 Students will discover that multiplying or dividing an inequality by a negative number
causes the direction of the inequality sign to reverse.
TEKS/AP/Standards:
Ⓡ ALG.7B Investigate methods for solving linear equations and inequalities using concrete models,
graphs, and the properties of equality, select a method, and solve the equations and inequalities
involving one or two variables.
Ⓢ ALGI.7C Interpret and determine the reasonableness of solutions to linear equations and
inequalities.
