Biology Prep Lesson Plan 9/29 4B(R): SWBAT Investigate and explain cellular processes including homeostasis, energy conversions, transport of molecules, and synthesis of new molecules. Warm-Up: Students may study for cell/cell transport exam and ask questions. Assessment: Students will take cell/cell transport exam. Independent Practice: 9/30 5A(R): SWBAT Describe the stages of the cell cycle, including DNA replication and mitosis, and the importance of the cell cycle to the growth of organisms. Students will be given mitosis stages without labels and will be asked to put the stages in order Warm-Up: Students will be asked to write a paragraph about how they grew from a baby into a teenager. Students should be prepared to share their answers. A notebook check will be performed. Cell Division/Mitosis Worksheet due at the end of class for participation grade Guided Practice: Teacher will show cell cycle/mitosis video with guided questions. Student’s provided a copy of the cell cycle to fill in as teacher explains Independent Practice: 10/1- 5A(R): SWBAT Describe the 10/2 stages of the cell cycle, including DNA replication and mitosis, and the importance of the cell cycle to the growth of organisms. Students will glue cell cycle cutout into their notebooks Students will use notes and class text books to begin mitosis flipbook Warm-up: Students will be asked to list the stages of mitosis. Mitosis flipbook must be completed by the end of class for a participation grade Guided Practice: Teacher will introduce virus video if time allows Independent Practice: Students will continue working on their mitosis flipbook 10/3 Fall Holiday, NO SCHOOL Plans are subject to change to support the needs of the classroom.
