know, and feel about
poetry.
2. Pass out student note
sheets and have students
open to pg. 770.
3. Go through the
material, guide students
in note-taking, and pause
for student practice with
the embedded excerpts
from poems.
4. At end of p. 771,
present PowerPoint of
common poetic forms
5. Return to textbook to
cover 772-3.
6. Jigsaw activity – poetic
forms & elements
7. Exit ticket – 4 lines of
poetry – find
devices/identify form
