What are we learning?
Daily Objective: I can analyze American foreign policy that used international investment, peace
treaties, and select military intervention to promote a vision of international order, even while
maintaining U.S. isolationism in the years following World War I.
TEKS/AP/Standards: The involvement of the United States in World War II, while opposed by most
Americans prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor, vaulted the United States into global political and
military prominence, and transformed both American society and the relationship between the
United States and the rest of the world.
How will we learn it?
Learning Activities:
1. Do Now: Clear off desks
2. Document Analysis Practice- Students will participate in a group activity where they will match
selected documents to the correct main idea and context.
3. Assessment #14: DBQ Document Analysis- Students will analyze documents in preparation for
writing an in class DBQ on Tuesday.

Daily Objective: I can explain how The United States and its allies achieved victory over the Axis
powers through a combination of factors, including allied political and military cooperation, industrial
production, technological and scientific advances, and popular commitment to advancing democratic
ideals.

2. Video Analysis: World War 2- Students will analyze a video that highlights the significant
causes and effects of World War 2.
3. American Military Leaders of WWII- Students will complete a bracket that asks them to
determine the greatest American military leader during World War 2.
4. World War II Timeline- Students will select the 6 most significant battles of WWII and
create a timeline to illustrate their analysis of the war.
