The Writer’s The Writer’s Eye Entry Form

advertisement
The Writer’s Eye is an annual prose and poetry
competition designed and organized by the Docents at the
University of Virginia Art Museum to stimulate the
relationship between the visual and literary arts.
Open to all ages starting with third graders, writers
submit original, unpublished stories or poems
inspired by one piece of artwork on view at the
UVa Art Museum. Selected works have been chosen and
are viewable online along with an application. Writers must
base their experience upon observing the work at the Museum,
however, as studying art in its original form is a unique
experience and will yield more competitive submissions.
The Writer’s Eye Entry Form
The contest begins on Monday, September 26, and all
entries are due at the Art Museum by Friday, November 18,
at 5 pm. Tours will be given through Tuesday, November 15,
and two Writer’s Eye Open Houses will be held by the Docents
on Tuesday, October 11, and Saturday, October 29, from 2-4PM
to host questions and to activate the creative writing process.
