Cycles Magazine Project – Due

You will be making a magazine like Science World containing information about
each of the cycles listed above. Look over the magazine to get an idea of which
sections you would like to do.
TOPICS:
Information about these topics must be in your magazine. You will divide the
topics among your group members. Each member will be responsible for 1-2 topics.
 Lunar Cycle
 Tidal Cycle
 Seasons
 Day and Night
 Life Cycle of a Star
 HR Diagram
 Plate Tectonics
PRODUCTS:
Each group member must be responsible for completing 3 smaller sections or 1
large section of the magazine.
You may choose 3 of the following smaller sections:
 Ask Science World
 Mind-Boggler
 Gross OUT
 Numbers in the News
 Mystery Photo
 Crossword Puzzle
 Cool Jobs
OR
You may choose 1 of the following larger sections:
 Game
 Science in the News – consists of short articles about 3-4 topics
 Feature – discuss this with me
For the Group you must have:




At least one of each type of small article
At least one of the larger articles
Decorative Cover
Annotated Bibliography
In addition you will need:
 Pictures or graphics for your “acticle”
 Must be done in color
 Must be neat
 Must be done on the computer
 Individual annotated bibliography – each person’s bibliography must be listed
separately.
 Must have table of contents. Name of person who did that part must be on
the table of contents.
Things to think about:
 Must have works cited for the research you used for your section. Please do
not copy and paste. You will get a “0” if I find you have done that – that is
known as plagiarism.
 This counts as several major test grades.
 You will have overlap depending on how many people are in your group. This
means you may have more than 1 of some of the smaller article types.
 You need to cover the material as thoroughly as you can so that may take 23 small articles to do it.
 For the small articles per individual, they do not have to all be on the same
topic.
