Each of the students will need to record verbal model, expression, process and answer on notebook paper. Don’t forget the unit.

You need to use decimal in expression, process and answer if the question(s) is expressed in decimal form. You need to use fraction in expression, process and answer if the question(s) is expressed in fraction form. You can use either decimal or fraction in expression, process and answer if the question(s) is expressed in both decimal and fraction form.

Please write down name, date and period on their answer document. The title is group practice on solving problems on adding and subtracting integers.

Round your answer in hundredths if necessary. Simplify your answer if necessary

Example 1 (please read this example carefully)

Tanya made a deposit of $150 into her checking account.

Then she withdrew $255. The next day, she wrote a check for

$145. She had $350 in her account before any of these transactions. How much money is in her account now?

vm: money in her account + deposit – withdrawal – amount she wrote a check

Expression: 350 + 150 – 255 - 145

Process: = 500 – 255 - 145

= -245 – 145

= -$390
