Delicious Poetry 1. Choose one of the images in your folder. 2. Choose one of the poetry templates below. 3. Using ONE of the templates below, write a poem about the image you chose on a piece of paper. Decorate it if you have time! OPTION #1: Diamond Poem 1st line: the food item/entrée in the picture 2nd line: 2 adjectives that describe this food in the picture (focus on sight) 3rd line: 3 adjectives that describe the food in the picture (focus on smell) 4th line: 4 adjectives that describe the food in the picture (focus on taste) 5th line: 3 adjectives that describe this complimentary food (focus on smell) 6th line: 2 adjectives that describe this complimentary food (focus on sight) 7th line: the food item/entrée/drink that might compliment or go with the item in the picture OPTION #2: Five Sense Poem 1. [Food/entree] is [color]. 2. It looks like _________. 3. It feels like _________. 4. It tastes like _________. 5. It smells like _________. 6. [Food/entrée] is [general adjective—delicious, tasty, great, ect.]. Rearrange lines following the first one until the poem reads the best. OPTION #3: Acrostic Poem Write the name of the food item from your picture vertically. Describe the item with words that begin with the letters in the name of the food item. Your poem can be focused on descriptions of sight, taste, smell, and texture OR you could focus your poem on a memory associated with that food item. See example below: Always must be crisp, juice running down my chin after my first bite Pie, Apple pie made from lime-green Granny Smiths and flaky, homemade crust Pick the One with the least amount of dents and bruises, hoping for perfection Love to pair with creamy, rich peanut butter, which reminds me of late night cravings and Adelaide End of the summer means apple season: cider simmering on the stove, cinnamon and spice lingering in the air, and apple butter shared with my mom
