illustration or picture of the plant and describe the habitat
and the environment in which they grow.
2. State the ailment or condition for which the plant was used
for by earlier cultural groups.
3. Describe the part of the plant that is used along with the
methods used by the ancient cultures for preparing and
using the remedy.
4. Describe the active ingredient in the remedy as discovered
by ethnobotanists and natural products chemists. The
molecular structure and the description of the active part of
the molecule.
5. Describe the steps used in collecting specimens and
extracting the active compound. State the historical
development of purifying methods such as chromatography,
which aided in the discovery of active principles from natural
products.
6. State the names of some modern medicines which were
developed after studying the remedies used by some ancient
people.

Powerpoint Presentation with 5 of the most used Herbs used for the
treatment of this aliment. (No more than eight slides total). Overall
organization of contents and appearance of the poster. All of the
students need to equally take part in the presentation and no flash
cards can be used as prompts. Student needs to speak loudly and
show confidence in their knowledge of each herb as questions are
asked. (20 POINTS)
