Instructions for Fast Track Project Worksheet
Applies to: Fast Track Projects only
1. Project Title: Enter a title that is recognizable and unique. There is
sufficient space available, but try to keep the title concise and
meaningful.
2. Project Sponsor: If the sponsor is a VCU employee, use the Person
Data Base lookup wizard to select their name. If the sponsor is not a
VCU employee, type in the sponsor’s full name.
3. Sponsor Department: If the sponsor is a VCU employee, enter the
business unit, school, or department for whom the project is being
done. If the sponsor is not a VCU employee, enter the name of their
organization.
4. Project Manager: This field is automatically populated with your
name and cannot be changed.
5. OTS Unit: Use the drop down arrow to select the org unit where you
work.
6. Project Description: Enter the project’s purpose, deliverables,
business problem or issue to be solved, audience and benefits, and any
additional information that fully describes the project.
7. Start Date: Use the calendar wizard to select the project’s start date.
8. End Date: Use the calendar wizard to select the project’s end date
9. Project Deliverable: Describe the unique product, service, or result
the project will produce.
10.Scheduled Hours: Enter the total number of hours the project will
require to complete.
11.Project Cost: Enter the total cost of the project
12.Use the PDB look-up wizard to enter the Name of each staff member
assigned to work on the project. Enter the Project Role and the
Number of Hours they are assigned on the project.
13.For up to five tasks, enter the Description of Work Activity and the
Time to Complete each one.
14.After entering the above:
a. Save and Finish commits this data to the database and displays
the successful completion of workflow message
b. Reset clears the form
c. Cancel ends the session without saving and returns you to the
PMIT home page.
