Brief Course Description
This course provides instruction for reading, preparation, and performance of repertoire in the jazz idiom for solo
voice. Emphasis on rhythm concepts, phrasing, melodic and harmonic improvisation, stylistic concepts, vocal
consistency, microphone techniques, communication with rhythm sections, and repertoire building.
